'Twas the night before P2...

Well, here it is. My saline arrived today, and my amber vials arrived Saturday. I bought oil free shampoo, crystal deodorant, oil free moisturizer,  stevia, and a new food scale. I'm set.

So far the plan is a 2 day load. 1st day will be food I love and never allow myself to have, and the second load day will be 2 large steaks to counteract the sodium and still allow for a good load day. I may change my mind on this and only do the steaks, but I'm not sure.

I'm nervous. It's been over a year since I've done this! I'm really hoping it's like riding a bike. I used to be able to answer questions with total ease about the protocol. I found myself scouring old notes to try to remember how to mix it!

This works for me and is the only thing that has. I have enough HCG to get back to the 100teens. I should be able to maintain that with a P3 diet and a yearly HCG round. I'm hypothyroid and can expect to be careful about food combining for the rest of my life. That's fine by me!

I'm scared and excited. I will need to scour the blogs to see who else is doing this again for moral support. I can't wait to fit in my jeans again!

XOXO, my lovies.

PS - I think I'll read my blog from start to finish tomorrow. :)

LM 112.2 (-1.8 of LDW)

Man, I'm late in updating!

I have been at 112.2 for 4 days. I'm still counting calories (well, not counting them per se but more being accountable by writing down what I'm eating so I'm conscious about the choices I make). I am truly blown away right now. My body is responding to calories in, calories out, not necessarily food combining which is what I depended on for years. I have small amounts of sugar every day, bread and potatoes. Before my weight would shoot through the roof when I did that. I am steady. I suspect the following:

I was 113 for yeeeeaaarrrs and I believe my body has grabbed on tight to this weight since it was a familiar one for so long.

I added the bread sticks last round.

I was much better about taking the multi-glandular support 10 days before P3 and throughout P3.

I think my thyroid medication, which was doubled a few months ago, has kicked into high gear.

Adding the carbs in small amounts is allowing my body to become used to them.

I'm walking a lot more.

So, there you have it. I am fascinated and delighted!

I see some of you (though not enough!) have updated so before I turn this off, I'll check on y'all.

XOXO

R5 Day 4 120 ( +.1, +3.3 LDW)

Meh! Day 3 and essentially the same as yesterday. I had tomatoes for the first time during P2 and this morning I could hear the chatter in my head wondering if that could have caused the lack of loss and then I could hear the clients I've counseled asking similar questions... and then I heard what I've told them, which is that this is normal. Granted day 3 is a little early, however I have very little to release. I'm practically within my range, and 5-10 pounds from where I'd like to end up with 17-21 days to go.

I suspected I wouldn't have a loss given how heavy my tummy was feeling. Not sure what that's about. Anyway, I'm not concerned.

I just got my NEW fancy dancy scale! It's the one we use at work. It not only weighs you, but it also calculates the following:

Omron HBF-514C

Body fat%
Body mass index (BMI)
Skeletal muscle%
Visceral fat level
Body age
Resting metabolism
Body weight

I've watched clients get really excited even if losses are slow because they are able to watch their body composition totally shift.

I didn't have time to try mine this morning before coffee so I'm waiting until tomorrow. I'll be very curious how it differs from the scale in my bedroom.  Here are some other images:

Off to check on you guys!

117.1 (+.4 LDW) after a steak day drop of 2.5 pounds

I love that steak days work. I absolutely knew I'd have a gain after eating 2.5 portions of this:

Leek and Bacon Crustless Quiche!

This is P3 friendly by the way, as well as a great loading food. Click here for the recipe. It was absolutely worth every calorie and the steak day! I will definitely be making this again, hopefully when I'm under my LDW ;).

Speaking of my steak day, after posting that article about the importance of eating something, anything, for breakfast being better than not eating anything, I experimented with my steak day. Rather than waiting until the end of the day, I had a little bit first thing for breakfast with my coffee, a  little bit at lunch, and the bulk of it at dinner, drinking a gallon of iced tea (slightly sweetened with stevia) and water throughout the day. Obviously, it worked. I am beginning to suspect that Dr. S. was a bit of a psychologist... I'm wondering if the reason he instructs us to wait until the end of the day to eat is to insure we don't eat anything other than that steak. Maybe?

I know I've mentioned how popular the HCG diet is here in Utah but I have to say I was pretty surprised when shopping at my local grocery store to see at the check out bottles of homeopathic HCG! Wow... I wonder if people are going to try it without the support we have, do it wrong, and discount the diet as a fad. I hope that doesn't happen, but it seems that could be a real possibility.

I'm still working on balance. It's amazing how difficult it can be to change the weight loss habits out for balance and health habits. To hesitate on eating fruits and vegetables worried about the carbs is crazy! I'm working on it. Balance takes constant vigilance. Constant shifting. I am determined to find it and to maintain it.  I think that's one of the reasons some fail at this protocol is that they want it to work and be done (this isn't true for everyone, but you know what I mean). You're never done. Just like cleaning the house once won't keep the house clean. It's constant vigilance. Unless you're in that mind set, it's too hard a diet to do.

Well, I've just babbled.  I hope you're all well! Thanks for all the support and love!

To make up for my previous way too long post, something short and sweet

I've been logging my calories and exercise for years using fitness assistant.

Here is a graph of my weight loss in the last 3 years. Can you tell when I did my rounds? :)

Comparison

To get an idea of where I came from and where I'm going to (which is actually full circle as where I'm going to was where I came from before my hormones decided to lose their collective minds), here are some pictures.

First, me at my heaviest - 169ish:

Here I am now:

Here I am at 111 pounds - this was 3 months after I had my son and right before the pounds came on when my menstrual cycle returned:

Me on my wedding day 114 pounds (10 years ago as of the 17th!)

Day 2 VLCD

I weighed in at 4 am with a .2 pound loss. I knew this was possible and was even prepared for it, but disappointed nonetheless. I told myself to wait until I woke up this morning to re-weigh. I was pleased to see the drop was now 1.1 pounds, exactly how much I had gained on the 2nd load day. So, 125.6 this morning. I hope things speed up this week as it will inevitably slow down again.

I have a lot on my plate today and the kids are on break until tomorrow. It will be easier to gather my thoughts when they're back in school.

OH, last night I had my sorbet. SO delicious. Here's the recipe:

150 grams of frozen strawberries
1/4 to 1/3 cup of water
1 dropper full sweet leaf brand liquid vanilla cream stevia
1/2 - 1 lemon juice

Blend with a hand mixer until smooth. You will think you're cheating, I swear. Approx 50 calories and totally P2 compliant!

OH, it occurs to me now that if you added ice and tequila, you'd have a Strawberry LowCarbirita! Only 13 carbs! Of course, that would have to wait until AFTER P2. :)

Have a great day!
