Day 24 LM - 116.9 (-.8 , + .2 of LDW)

I had a hard day yesterday. I had to fire one of my clients. You'll never believe this story.

I do property management and had a vacancy that needed to be filled. True to form, I got this home rented within 3 days of advertising it but the story is more than a little bizarre.

The owners of the home moved to Colorado. The first people to make an appointment to see it from my online ad, are from Colorado. Turns out that the owner of the home is their Bishop! We purposely didn't tell the owners who was applying because we didn't want to put ourselves legally in the position to discriminate in case they didn't want to rent to them. Over and over the tenants said that the owners said the home was already rented when they'd inquired about it to them directly.

We approved their application and told the owners. They FLIPPED as they didn't want these people renting their home. They later accepted it, but freaked when we took our finder's fee and insisted they referred them to us. I cannot deal with liars. So, we've fired them. I absolutely hate confrontation. The whole thing left a sour taste  in my mouth for the rest of the day, and my tummy is in knots this morning.

Today I'm visiting with my brother and his family. I think we'll all go to the county fair. I'll be heading home after the weekend. I love hanging with my family but I so miss my husband. I know, I sound like a broken record!

Off to check in on you all...

I would have got out of that situation too. The owner sounds like an a$$hole. A holy a$$hole at that! LOL!

Hey, I just noticed that on your page, my blog is listed under the old title. How is that happening? I looked all over my settings and I can't find how to fix it. Do you know?

Wow, good for you! I hate negativity like that - it can spread into everything else that you are doing, so good riddance! Glad that you took a stand and are not dealing with the crap.
Your weight is doing fantastic!! On vacation even! Gotta love that! And I hear ya about missing your other half - i do the same when I am gone even for a night. Just think how sweet the reunion will be!
Love to you!

Excellent move. You saw the red flag right away and made the decision to end it immediately. That is what you do when you only want positive engery in your life - way to go!! This is only an indication of the type of trouble and headaches the owners would give you during the on-going property management contract. Do not even feel the slightest sense of angst over this. It is sweet that you miss your hubby - it is such a blessing to have a strong happy marriage. Enjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe drive home!

aarrgh. People don't really understand how, if you want to rent your home out, you will be constricted by law. You will not have a say in who you can rent to. My mom was a real-estate broker for over 20 years and faced this many times. I'm so sorry that you were caught in the middle of this situation. BUT, you handled it properly. I hope you still got your fee. Kathryn's right about how, if you had gone forward with them as clients, you would have only had headache-after-headache with them.

Your steak day worked! Look at you within 0.2 of your LDW!! Terrific-

I hope you had fun at the fair- love you!

What a spot to be placed in. The owners sound like they were real problems. I hope you didn't let it ruin your day and you were able to enjoy it.
